Jhon Duran 'fuels' Chelsea transfer speculation as Aston Villa striker's activity spotted
Jhon Duran's latest social media activity appears to suggest admiration for a Premier League rival amid uncertainty over his future at Aston Villa.
The 20-year-old, who signed in January 2023, has been consigned to a bit-part role in Unai Emery's squad this season. Duran has been involved in 27 top-flight squads this year, making 20 appearances as a substitute and a measly two in the starting line-up.
When a striker has the capability to score two goals in three minutes to snatch a dramatic draw with Liverpool, it must be difficult to sit behind one of the league's most consistent performers in Ollie Watkins. That is why on the eve of another transfer window, suggestions of a move won't go away.

Chelsea are just one club linked with a move as they have failed to find rhythm in front of goal at times this campaign and interestingly, Duran appears to be somewhat of a fan of the London club. It has been spotted in recent days that the Colombian has been interacting with Blues' social media posts on X, formerly known as Twitter:
There are numerous interactions that are visible on the striker's profile, dating back to January this year. This includes directly with Chelsea's official accounts, media reporting on Chelsea matches and fan accounts addressing transfer speculation.
Emery will no doubt hope to find a swift resolution to any situation that may unfold once the season ends, as the Spaniard cannot afford to have any drawn out saga as he prepares for the Villa's first Champions League campaign in over four decades.
In the meantime, on the back of qualification for that competition, there remains one final Premier League fixture of the season away to Crystal Palace. With little riding on the result now and his star performance on Monday still fresh in the mind, Duran will hope to be in contention for a first start since the start of April.
