Jim Carrey ‘Deeply Saddened’ By The Death Of Cathriona White

Jim Carrey has released a statement following the shock passing of his girlfriend Cathriona White saying that he is ‘shocked and deeply saddened’.

In a statement, the actor said: “I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona.

"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt.”

The on-again, off-again couple first started dating in 2012 after meeting on a film set, but split a few months later before they rekindled their romance in May this year.

Last year, Carrey reportedly praised his on-off girlfriend, as he said: “Cathriona is a lovely young woman. I have always been attracted to talent, so if someone is beautiful and talented, that’s hard to resist.”

The 28-year-old make-up artist was found dead in her home last night by two friends.

Los Angeles Assistant Chief Coroner told Independent.ie: “Ms White was found at 8.40pm local time on Monday, September 28, at her home in Sherman Oaks.

"The final cause of death has not been confirmed, pending an autopsy.”

On September 25th, Cathriona tweeted for the final time, saying: “Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. love to you all.“
