JK Rowling has been having fun with Harry Potter fans on Twitter.

After a fan begged her – with three 'please's, no less – to reveal what animal is Newt's (Eddie Redmayne) Patronus in Fantastic Beasts 2, Rowling replied that it would be a "big spoiler" if she was to give that away.

Now, of course, this doesn't actually reveal anything specific about Fantastic Beasts 2, but if we put our detective hats on, it could suggest that we'll be seeing a lot more of the Dementors in the sequel.

After all, a Patronus is a defence against the evil creatures and Newt has already had a run-in with one of them in Fantastic Beasts when an Obscurus attacked him – and basically all of New York – in the finale.

Whatever Newt summons as his Patronus, he would have his pick of animals to choose from given how many types he's got packed away in his suitcase.

The question is, which one of them is the most important to him..?

Fantastic Beasts 2 is set to start shooting this August in the UK and Paris, France, with casting news coming thick and fast.

Glue's Callum Turner is reported to be joining the magical sequel as Newt's brother but, most excitingly, Jude Law was recently confirmed to be taking on the role of the young Albus Dumbledore.

He broke his silence on the role yesterday (April 27) and admitted that he was a little bit intimidated in taking it on

"My first port of call, I hope, is to meet JK Rowling and to talk exactly about that and find out who he is, and who she wants him to be," Law added.

"[I want to] learn a little bit more about her vision of this great man as a young man."

Fantastic Beasts 2 will arrive in cinemas on November 16, 2018.
