Joao Felix breaks silence as he reveals why he chose Chelsea over Aston Villa
Joao Felix has revealed why he chose to join Chelsea, as Aston Villa missed out on the Portuguese forward.
Felix has signed a seven-year contract at Stamford Bridge, after Chelsea agreed a deal said to be worth £46.3m with Atletico Madrid. Villa had made the 24-year-old their top target in the remainder of the summer transfer window, but lost out to their Premier League rivals.
Speaking for the first time about his transfer from Madrid to London, Felix, who spent four months on loan at Chelsea between January 2023 and May 2023, said: “I’m really happy to be back at Chelsea and I can’t wait to get started.

“I can see some familiar faces from the last time I was here, which is always nice. I loved my time here before and I told my friends and family that I’d love to return to the Premier League one day. To do that with Chelsea is a great feeling and I’m excited to be back.”
