Footage of the moment Jodie Chesney's killers were arrested on suspicion of her murder has been released by the Metropolitan Police.

In the video from March, drug dealer Svenson Ong-a-Kwie, 19, can be seen crashing through the roof of a conservatory as he was chased by officers - and is later heard shouting at them as he was handcuffed.

"Detained, detained, detained" - yelled one officer. "You're under arrest mate. On suspicion of murder," he added.

"What? Murder? I ain't killed no-one," replied Ong-a-Kwie.

His 17-year-old runner, Arron Isaacs, also fled from the back of a house and was detained at the same time.

The defendants, both jailed for life on Monday, blamed each other for inflicting the fatal wound during the unprovoked attack on Jodie in Amy's Park in Harold Hill, Romford, on 1 March.

The jury deliberated for less than six hours to find them guilty last week of the girl scout's murder.

Judge Wendy Joseph QC said: "Jodie was a bright, warm and loving girl who could have given so much to so many, and who should have led a happy and fulfilled life.

"All that was taken away by an act of callous, casual and utterly irresponsible violence.

"Those present at the scene will live with the horror for a very, very long time. The whole community has been shocked to its core, and the ramifications have been widespread."

The Old Bailey heard that Ong-a-Kwie had convictions for possessing and supplying drugs - and he admitted being in breach of a six-week suspended sentence for handling stolen jewellery dating back to October last year.

Isaacs also had previous convictions, for possessing a screwdriver, actual bodily harm, possession of cannabis and aggravated vehicle-taking.

Cath Carrie, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "The court heard today how the cowardly actions of these two men have ripped apart a family and a community.

"Jodie was a talented, caring and much-loved teenager and had gone to the park that night to spend time with friends.

"Her life was cruelly taken away as a result of a senseless dispute linked to the drug-dealing activities of these individuals."
