Joe Sugg has had so much fun on Strictly Come Dancing that it's changed what he wants to do with the rest of his career.

Prior to debuting in the BBC ballroom, the 27-year-old was mostly known for his 8 million follower-strong YouTube channel and an Instagram account that has attracted nearly 6 million fans.

However, Joe has now been introduced to a whole new audience by dancing week on primetime telly, and that experience has changed his perception of what his career can be going forward.

"I went into this, in my head, thinking, 'Cool, I’m going to do this, and then go back to doing YouTube' – which is still what I love and do," he told Digital Spy and other media. "I think the reason why I had this opportunity in the first place was because of my YouTube channel and that kind of stuff.

"But now, afterwards, going down the stairs for the first time and performing on that stage, it is terrifying. But I felt that this show has slowly improved my confidence in performing. So I think now I’m much more open to the idea of doing things more performance-wise.

"But yeah, it’s weird how it’s all changed over the course of the show. Because I was fully expecting to go back to Instagram or go back to YouTube or something."

Regardless of what happens in tonight's Strictly finale, Joe will get to keep living his performing dream for a few more months next year when he hits the road with partner Dianne Buswell for the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 live tour.

The Strictly Come Dancing finale airs tonight at 6.30pm on BBC One, as one couple win the Glitterball Trophy. The special will also feature music from crooner Michael Bublé.
