Joe Wicks has kicked off PE with Joe again, as families and fans welcomed him back with 121,000 live streams.

Personal trainer Wicks, also known as The Body Coach, became a regular fixture in the homeschool schedule of many households during the first lockdown with his daily YouTube PE lessons which also returned in lockdown two.

The home workouts, aimed at the whole family, were such a hit that they saw Wicks receive an MBE in the Queen’s 2020 Birthday Honours for services to fitness and charity.

Now that schools are closed again for lockdown number three, Wicks is back to kickstart the day with his half-hour workout, this time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays rather than every day.

PE with Joe was a global hit and Wicks’ fans across the world were happy to see him back for his live YouTube workouts.

Commenting on his Instagram post, one supporter said: “We were happy to have you back!!! Great start to the week x”

Someone else added: “Amazing start for my children this morning! Thank you for your continued effort to keep our children active and positive difficult times but need to keep active which in turn will keep a positive attitude.”

And another fan commented: “Loved it! Completed the original 18 weeks and looking forward to finishing this one xx”

Famous fan Bobby Seagull, the former University Challenge contestant and TV star, also added an element of maths home learning to the PE lesson.

Commenting on the number of live streams, he wrote: “Awesome. I love that number as a maths teacher as 121 is 11 squared!!”

Dad-of-two Wicks often speaks about the positive effects of exercise on mental health and encourages his fans to work out as much for their minds as their bodies.

In September, he posted a video to Instagram opening up to his followers about the mental struggles he was facing through living with restrictions.

PE with Joe streams live at 9am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and stays on his YouTube channel for those who want to follow the routine later.
