Joel Dommett delivered a 'brutal' blow to the remaining acts on The Masked Singer, just hours before the latest episode on Saturday night.

Ex I'm A Celebrity finalist and comedian Joel has been at the helm of the ITV show since its much talked about debut in 2020, meaning he has seen stars like Nicola Roberts as Queen Bee, Charlie Simpson's Rhino and last year's champion, Danny Jones as Piranha, being voted as winners. And now he's back in charge for another series as The Masked Singer proves to be unmissable viewing every weekend.

So far the axe has fallen on Kate Garraway, Pru Leith, Macy Gray, Carol Decker and Mel Geidroyc, with the programme under fire for 'sexist' results, as T'Pau icon Carol's exit proving to be particularly controversial. Former Bake Off host Mel was the latest casualty of season 6 of The Masked Singer, with her given the boot on January, as her character Teeth lost out in the studio vote and was then chosen to go by the panel.

And the bad news for this year's remaining acts, including Bear, believed to be Example, Snail who many viewers now think is Andrea Corr and Wolf, hotly tipped to be Marti Pellow; is that two of them will be sent packing this weekend, with Joel confirmed the bad news in a teaser advert that went out on ITV earlier on Saturday, ahead of the show's 7pm start.

In the ad that aired during James Martin's Saturday Morning, Joel said: "This week on The Masked Singer we've got two massive reveals, yes, it's a double unmasking! So come and have twice as much fun with me, Mo, Davina, Maya and Jonathan. The Masked Singer continues tonight on ITV1 and ITVX."

Other stars being tipped to be behind the mask this time include Grayson Perry, now the favourite to be Kingfisher and Les Miserable film actress and acclaimed musical leading lady Samantha Bark, a big contender to be Pufferfish.
