Yahoo News John Barrowman fires back at bully who used homophobic slur

I'm a Celebrity's John Barrowman has hit back at a homophobic man who verbally abused him during an awards show.
Barrowman was hosting the Globe Travel Awards 2019 last night (January 17) and was streaming it on Instagram when he was abused.
As Barrowman walked around the audience, a man could be heard shouting 'poof', which stopped the Doctor Who star in his tracks.
The man asked: “Are you a poof?” which prompted Barrowman to calmly reply: "We don’t say that word anymore.”
The seemingly-confused man replied: “Oh no way.”
Barrowman continued: “No we don’t. So I’ll wait. He just called me a poof. That wasn’t right.”
Prompted by a woman off screen to move along, Barrowman added: “Sir, I suggest you stop drinking because that was rude and I take offence at you calling me a poof."
Earlier today, Barrowman revealed how exactly all the I'm a Celebrity campmates avoided tearing each other's throats out while surviving in such dire conditions on a diet of kangaroo danglies.
Speaking to This Morning's Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, the Torchwood and Arrow actor said: "I enjoyed every second of it, and it was a challenge. That was the one thing – the decision to go in was to challenge myself and take myself out of my comfort zone.
"And I certainly did that. And the fact that everybody got along and we had a great time – there were times that things could have gone the other way, [but] we all established in the very beginning... We thought, 'Let's have a word'."
