British stars John Boyega and Jodie Turner-Smith are joining forces in the upcoming thriller Borderland.

According to Deadline, Boyega (Star Wars) and Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) star will appear alongside Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) and Jack Reynor (Midsommar) in the film.

Borderland will follow an Irish paramilitary named Michael, played by Reynor, who witnesses the shooting of his wife by an SAS Sergeant, played by Boyega, when a border ambush goes awry.

When Tempest is sent to London to head an anti-terrorist operation, Michael joins an active service unit (ASU) in the capital, and will stop at nothing to avenge the death of his wife.

Jones will serve as an executive producer on the film, which will be directed by sibling duo the Guard Brothers (The Uninvited).

The Guard Brothers co-wrote the screenplay with Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies), inspired by the book The Road to Balcombe Street: The IRA Reign of Terror in London.

The Guard Brothers said: Borderland is a vengeance fuelled chase movie, fusing some pulse ticking action with a powerful message for our times.

“We’re thrilled that the script, driven as much by character as it is by plot, has attracted such a first rate cast.”

Boyega will next be seen in the crime drama Naked Singularity, the directorial debut of It scribe Chase Palmer.

Turner-Smith, meanwhile, will be seen in Kogonada’s next film After Yang as well as Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse.
