Sylvester Stallone has tagged out of an upcoming Hollywood action movie with Jackie Chan, but he's picked a heck of a replacement.
Sly was supposed to have starred with Chan in a thriller - currently titled Project X - about surviving a Middle East terror attack, but his busy schedule with Creed 2 and The Expendables 4 has forced him off the project.
The Italian Stallion will be replaced in Project X by former WWE champion and budding Hollywood action hero John Cena, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Chan will portray a Chinese security contractor who discovers his employers' sinister motives when he's called in to extract trapped workers from an oil refinery. Teaming with a former American marine (Cena), Chan will stop at nothing to bring down his crooked employers.
Project X is the latest from director Scott Waugh, who adapted the video game series Need for Speed for the big screen and most recently made the natural disaster drama 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain.
Cena adds the project to a very busy schedule, which includes tussling with the likes of AJ Styles, Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Kane on a regular basis in WWE rings across the world.
He's also trying to keep his highly publicised relationship with Nikki Bella on the right track following their brief split, in addition to lining up starring roles in Hollywood films like Transformers spin-off Bumblebee, The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle andThe Janson Directive.
No cinema release date for Project X has been announced yet.
