John Frade posts tribute to his wife who died in Westminster terror attack

John Frade, the grieving husband of the mother of two killed by Khalid Masood,  has paid a poignant tribute to his wife Aysha on Facebook.

The father of two changed his profile picture alongside another image of him with his wife and one of their daughters, to a photo of a rose by the message: "Roses are usually red, our angel who was never blue. The most beautiful flower in our garden of joy. Protect us from heaven in all that we do."

Friends immediately offered messages of support in English and Mr Frade's native Portuguese.

Jose Guimaraes wrote in Portuguese: "These are difficult moments John. I don't have words to ease your pain.

"God has taken her body but you are left with everlasting memories and two daughters who are the legacy she will leave you always."

Mr Frade's cousin, also called John, said: "His life's completely fallen apart. They've got young kids. You can't believe how anyone could do something like that.

"When I heard, I was just absolutely shocked. I'm still feeling terrible."

Mrs Frade was crossing Westminster bridge when she was mown down by Khalid Masood.

According to reports, she was leaving work at the DLD college near the Westminster Bridge, where she was a department head and taught Spanish, when she lost her life in the attack.

She is said to have been crossing the bridge to pick up her children, aged eight and 11, from school.

Aysha Frade, one of the victims of the Westminster terror attack, was "a highly regarded and loved" member of staff at DLD College London, her principal Rachel Borland said.

Mrs Borland said in a statement:  "We are all deeply shocked and saddened at the news that one of the victims yesterday was a member of our staff, Aysha Frade. All our thoughts and our deepest sympathies are with her family. We will be offering every support we can to them as they try to come to terms with their devastating loss. "Aysha worked as a member of our administration team at the college. She was highly regarded and loved by our students and by her colleagues. She will be deeply missed by all of us."

She had always lived in London, where her parents met.
