John Glenn, former US Senator and astronaut, was laid to rest in a ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, on Thursday, April 6. There was a short, private chapel service before the burial.
US Marines escorted Glenn’s casket, which was cloaked in a US flag. The graveside service also included a gun salute and the playing of Taps.
Glenn died on December 8, and a public viewing was held at the Ohio Statehouse before a public memorial service.
