John Legend thinks that spending lockdown with Chrissy Teigen helped the couple overcome their infertility issues.

The couple are currently expecting their third child, which will be the first conceived without the use of IVF.

Already parents to Luna, 4 and Miles 2, Legend told Cosmopolitan UK that he guessed spending so much time together at home 'was enough to conquer any fertility challenges [they] had.'

'It was truly a surprise. We had struggled to conceive naturally all this time and figured it would never happen,' he went on.

'We thought it couldn’t happen this way and were worried that something would go wrong but, so far, all the tests have come back great and we feel very good.'

The famously open pair have been chronicling the latest pregnancy online, with Chrissy revealing an unusual pregnancy symptom of 'nose spreading' - which has been causing her pain recently - on Twitter this week, and of course announcing the newest addition to their family via John's most recent music video for single Wild.

Along with all the happy news for the couple, they have also both been open about how every marriage has its struggles, and that the pair engage in therapy from time to time.

'We go to therapy sometimes. I think every couple, who has been together for a long time could use time to talk with a third party to help with whatever concerns they have,' the multi-Grammy award winner told Cosmo.

'It sounds obvious but being with someone you really care about, respect and enjoy being around, I think that's the crucial foundation.

'Then communicating, being considerate, listening to your partner and making sure their needs are met.'

Discussing how they have handled lockdown, he admitted that they're spending a lot of time together, but that the kids are 'in heaven.'

'Their ideal situation is to hang out with us all day, every day. A downside for me is that we had to cancel my tour. I’ve released a new album and want to be out there performing the songs to people.'
