A department store in Newcastle was forced to close due to a "technical issue".
John Lewis in Eldon Square had to shut their doors to customers on Tuesday afternoon. The retailer said they had a technical fault and their team was working to resolve the issue.
They have confirmed that the store will remain closed for the rest of the day.
John Lewis said they are unable to disclose what the technical issue was.
A spokesperson for the department store chain said: "We're very sorry that we've had to close our shop for a few hours due to a technical issue. Our team is working to resolve this as quickly as possible.
"In the meantime we'd like to thank our customers for their patience and understanding."
