What's in a name? Well, if your name is John Lewis and your official Twitter is @johnlewis, it can apparently lead to some rather annoying social media attention.

Meet John Lewis (not the store), a Virginia man who has been dealing with strange enquiries and complaints since joining Twitter in 2016.

With John beating the UK department store to the handle on Twitter, he is bombarded by customer tweets on a daily basis. Here are some of examples of how he deals with them:

And after amassing over 350,000 followers and helping out the store, Mr Lewis is being rewarded for his efforts.

Taking to Twitter, John shared a snap showcasing his haul of "thank you" gifts from the store's HQ.

Among this year's Santa sack was an appearance from John Lewis's latest critter Moz the Monster, a shiny Google Home, and even an edible version of his own face.

All of this came with a UK/US adapter to make sure he doesn't feel left out in the states – not bad for calming irate customers who want to return a microwave.

'Tis the season and all that, and it looks like John Lewis are incredibly grateful for all the work that human John does for them – unpaid, we should add.

It almost makes you want to change your name to Mark Spencer, doesn't it?
