John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are getting an eighth season of their cookery show – which will tackle whipping up food amid the cost of living crisis.

‘John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen’ will be on ITV1 for 10 new episodes starting in April.

Lisa, 51, who has been married to John, 57, since 2019 after they met for years earlier, told The Sun newspaper: “There will be a lot more fresh and lighter options that are also very cost-effective.

“We‘ve got a new series starting at the end of April. We love doing it. It’s doing well in the ratings.

“It takes quite a while because we’ve got to come with about 40 recipes for the whole run of the show. John and I sit down and come up with ideas.”

In October last year, ‘Waterloo Road’ actress Lisa, who has teenage daughter Billie with her ex Chris Coghill, 47, took to Instagram to mark three years of marriage with John, who with his ex-wife Jessica has son Jonah, 18, daughter Lulu, 16 along with two other boys from another relationship.

She wrote: “Happy anniversary my @johntorodecooks... 3 wonderful years married to you.

“What a beautiful wedding. Have sat and looked at our wedding video and the happiness in everyone’s faces. You bring me so much joy. I love you so very much. Thank you for being my husband.”

John, who has regular chef spots on ITV1’s ‘This Morning’ replied: “B***** love my wife.”
