She wrote: "Daddy, You make parenting look so easy, though it not always is. You make everyday better than the one before it. You bring joy to us when we are down. You are our best friend and we love you to the moon and back around.

"I hope to be even half as good of a parent as you someday Happy Father’s Day to this incredible man and to all of the amazing Dads out there"

Travolta and late wife Kelly Preston had three children together - Ella and sons Jett and Benjamin.

Eldest son Jett passed away in 2009 when he was just 16 after suffering a seizure on a family holiday in the Bahamas.

Last year, tragedy hit the family again when Travolta's beloved wife Preston died of breast cancer in July 2020.

The Father's Day post from Ella was a rarely shared photo of their family as it is now - herself, dad Travolta and 10-year-old brother Benjamin.

Pulp Fiction star Travolta also posted his own Father's Day message on Instagram with a photo of himself with Ella and Benjamin.

He wrote: "Happy Father’s Day everyone! It is a privilege to be the father of these two beautiful children - thank you for the honor and my love and respect to all fathers."

Last month, the actor marked the US Mother's Day with a heartfelt tribute to Preston on the first year that they spent the occasion without her.

Posting a photo from their children's early years, he wrote: "Dearest Kelly, you brought into my life three of the most wonderful children I have ever known. Thank you. We love and miss you. Happy Mother’s Day."
