The dream team behind John Wick are back in action for the upcoming Chapter 3.

Chad Stahelski, director of the first two instalments, has officially inked a deal to reunite Keanu Reeves for another brutal adventure, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The publication also indicates that Stahelski is interested in hiring Hiroyuki Sanada for Chapter 3 in an undisclosed role, but stressed that a deal isn't in place yet.

The Japanese film star and noted martial artist is probably best known to Western audiences for playing Dogen in Lost. He'll turn up in the second season of Westworld later this year too.

Stahelski is also developing a TV spin-off set in the John Wick's Continental hotels, which are safe havens (or sometimes not-so-safe havens) for the world's deadliest assassins.

"[It's] got a really good structure. It's very tied to the film [in that] it's about the Continentals all over the world, how certain people come into that world, and what happens in relation to those people, which is cool," he recently said of the TV spin-off.

Earlier this month, it was reported John Wick star Ian McShane is already in talks about reprising his role as the New York Continental's world-weary owner Winston.

Meanwhile, John Wick: Chapter 3 will be released on May 17, 2019 in US cinemas. A UK date will be announced sooner to the release next year.
