Johnny Depp’s lawyers have asked a jury “to give Mr Depp his life back” by finding his ex-wife Amber Heard guilty of libel.Pirates of the Caribbean actor Depp, 58, is suing his former partner over a 2018 article she wrote in the Washington Post, which was titled: “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.”Heard, 36, “ruined his life by falsely telling the world she was a survivor of domestic abuse at the hands of Mr Depp,” lawyer Camille Vasquez told the jury in closing arguments on Friday.Depp is suing Heard for $50 million (£40 million) in Virginia’s Fairfax County Circuit Court. His team say he was defamed by the article even though it never mentioned his name.
