Actor Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance during Rihanna’s latest Savage X Fenty show on Wednesday.

The Chocolat star’s cameo came halfway through the 40-minute lingerie show and saw him clad in a khaki-green ensemble walking towards the camera to OutKast’s So Fresh, So Clean.

The move marks the latest appearance by the actor in an apparent comeback into the public sphere, following his victory in the multi-million dollar lawsuit against former partner Amber Heard.

His appearance in the show has been met with a backlash online since it was confirmed last week, causing anger among some of the singer’s fans, notebly Olly Alexander.

The Years and Years singer, 32, is a vocal Rihanna fan and has previously modeled for her brand, appearing in her Valentine’s campaign posing in a harness and underwear.

But after TMZ reported last week that Depp was set to have a “star” role in the Savage X Fenty Vol 4 showcase later this month, Alexander retweeted their article along with a sad face.

“But, “Savage X Fenty” is you baby……. you wear it so well,” responded a fan, to which the Shine hit-maker replied: “Thank you but after this news I won’t be wearing it anymore”.

Rihanna has faced a backlash after her decision to include Depp was made public, with the hashtag “DitchDepp” soon trending on Twitter and some people threatening to boycott the label.

One fan tweeted: “Rihanna can’t be serious? With all these beautiful and unproblematic men in hollywood, and Johnny Depp is the one that appeals to you the most?”

“Adding Johnny Depp to the mix is just another example of how out of touch Rihanna actually is,” another claimed.

A third added: “I’m so glad I never bought any Savage x Fenty stuff and I can’t wait to never buy a Fenty Beauty product ever again.”

Aside from Depp, the star-studded show also featured Rihanna as well as Cara Delevingne, Irina Shayk, Anitta, Joan Smalls, Taraji P Henson and Burna Boy.

Depp sued his former partner over a 2018 article she wrote for the Washington Post about her experiences as a survivor of domestic abuse, which his lawyers said falsely accused him of being an abuser.

He sued the Aquaman actor for $50million. She countersued Depp for $100million.

Following the trial, the jury awarded $15million to Depp and $2million to Heard, however the claim was then reduced to $10.35million due to a cap on punitive damages in Virginia.

Heard is appealing the verdict, with lawyers arguing that the two rulings handed down by the jury were contradictory.
