Johnny Vegas has shown off his dramatic weight-loss, with fans hailing his new look “amazing.”

The Benidorm actor took to social media to show off his new slimmer frame and healthy lifestyle on Friday, prompting a very strong reaction from his followers.

Vegas shared a selfie on Twitter, in which he looked notably trim, alongside a picture of a plate of eggs, avocado and tomatoes.

He captioned the images: “It's a far cry from a Thatto Heath fry up....ooh you've changed Vegas.

“Apologies fellow tweeters, busy of late and treating our chats like a bacon butty, sadly an all too rare a treat of late.”

Fans were quick to praise at the 47-year-old actor on his “amazing” progress.

One fan wrote: “Wow you look amazing, well done you! I take it you are following a low carb healthy fats way of eating?”

Another commented: “Looking great Johnny. I’m on the “get fit and healthy” crusade myself. For to long (42 years) ive been losing buuuuut thanks to @RangersFC football fans in training I’m getting there. 5 stone down only 5 to go.”

Vegas recently announced that he was separating from wife Maia Dunphy after seven years of marriage, with both sharing statements on their social media accounts.

‘It is with a heavy heart that we want to let you know that we separated some time ago last year," it read.

"As we think is obvious, we continue to fully support each other; there is no acrimony, no story and no one else involved."

Vegas is currently filming the new series of Still Open All Hours, playing Eric Agnew.
