Jonathan Ross has revealed he's not averse to exploring reality TV but I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! is a big no-no. The 63-year-old TV icon has ignited rumours in recent times that he might be lacing up for a stint on Strictly Come Dancing.

Speaking on The Therapy Crouch podcast the star hinted at making room in his busy timetable for "a reality-type thing". Discussing his current projects during the chat he confirmed: "I'm still doing the talk show (The Jonathan Ross Show). That's coming back next year. I'm doing Masked Singer again this year."

Reflecting on the prospect of reality TV he teased: "I might be doing a reality-type thing if I can get all the dates to work, which is quite a fun thing." But when questioned by host Peter Crouch about whether Australia beckoned Ross emphatically stated: "No, not the jungle. I wouldn't go in the jungle. I wouldn't want to eat that stuff. And I wouldn't... I'd just get bored." Would you like to see Jonathan Ross on Strictly Come Dancing? Let us know in the comments.

He also outlined certain anxieties tied to the jungle adventure, especially heights, as he admitted: "I tell you what I wouldn't like on that – the height thing when they make you walk out of that thing in the beginning. But I just don't think it would be a fun thing to do. When you get older you do have to factor in, you know, what do I actually want to do with my time?"

In the past an association with the BBC's Latin and ballroom dance show was rife with speculation suggesting Ross could step into the late Sir Bruce Forsyth's shoes. However the seasoned presenter dismissed these claims due to his deep-rooted loyalty to television competitor ITV.

This comes after his suspension in 2008 by BBC for 12 weeks due to indecent answerphone messages left for actor Andrew Sachs, referencing his granddaughter Georgina Baillie on BBC Radio 2's The Russell Brand Show, without acquiring necessary permissions. Speaking to Digital Spy he declared: "That would never happen – oh come on. I'm not going to be offered it. I'm very happy at ITV. I'm an ITV person. I have no problem with the BBC but I have no intention of going back there to host shows." For the latest TV and showbiz news sign up to our newsletter.
