All great love stories start somewhere. For Property Brothers Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel, their spark ignited inside a black range rover on a sunny day in August thanks to James Cordon's Carpool Karaoke: The Series. The episode just became available today to watch for free exclusively on Apple TV. (If you're like me and never used Apple TV before, you can search for the title on the iPhone app without signing up for anything).

The episode features Drew and Jonathan Scott as well as Zooey and Emily Deschanel for a friendly sibling-rivalry rendezvous. While Zooey was still in the process of finalizing her divorce at the time, you could already see her and Jonathan warming up to each other. Here are some things I noticed while watching the episode.

First off, they sat in the front seat together, while Drew and Emily watched the action in the backseat. Zooey drove the car because she's a powerful woman, obviously. Plus, her natural instinct was probably to keep her attention on the road, and not the single Canadian man sitting inches away from her (or at least until her divorce was final). The crew begins to share tales of growing up with one another. Drew brings up the fact that Jonathan sleeps with his eyes open. Jonathan defends his little quirk by explaining that they're only open a little bit during the night. "It's like cute open," he concludes. Both Drew and Emily agree that is insanely creepy. Zooey stays quiet (perhaps debating if this is a red flag?). Then the entire car breaks into "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo.

Drew later explains that the brothers used to sing as kids, and Jonathan piggy backs on to that (most likely trying to tug at Zooey's heart strings) by mentioning that the brothers sing Christmas carols with their family during the holidays. Then on a perfectly August day, the Scotts and Deschanel's start singing "Joy to the World."

"Our favorite Christmas movie that we watch every year is actually Elf," Drew Scott announces to the car, clearly helping a brother out. Then Jonathan nudges Zooey to sing a part from the "shower song" (also known as "Baby, It's Cold Outside") in the film. Zooey proceeds. The next song the car performs is Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby One More Time." Jonathan seductively yanks at his seatbelt, feeling himself, feeling this moment. Zooey pulls the car over so they can demo their Britney moves.

While continuing to share stories, Jonathan mentions that there was a time when Drew was somewhat of an emotionless robot. Jonathan, subtly implying that he's always been romantic, had to help Drew woo the ladies."Even when he first met Linda, he used to get me to concoct these little scavenger hunts and things," Jonathan explains. However, it seems Drew eventually got his act together (and now Jonathan is the single one) as he recounts his super sweet proposal to Linda, which involved him recording his own version of Train's "Marry Me," as well as buying a Dr. Seuss-themed cake. You can read about how he got engaged here. The car then performs "When Will I Be Loved" by Phil Everly. As Drew Scott and Emily Deschanel are both happily married, it was clearly Zooey and Jonathan were pleading to the Carpool Karaoke gods to work some magic.

Then, it's time for the (even more) theatrical part of the episode. Zooey explains that the sisters have actually been working on a musical of the Scott's life— Property Brothers: The Musical. The show transitions to a theater where the sisters reenact their cheeky vision of Drew and Jonathan's journey to fame. Their performance features a parody of "Goodmorning Baltimore" now "Goodmorning Canada." The Property Brothers proceed to put on an act of the sister's lives too. While not as graceful as the girl's performance (please put your pants back on), the twin brothers parody "A Whole New World" now "A Whole New Girl." In both performances, Zooey and Jonathan starred as each other.

And the rest is history. Well, somewhat. Jonathan and Zooey started dating in late September after first meeting while taping this show on August 5. You can catch up on their entire dating timeline here.
