Terminal cancer won't stop TV presenter Jonnie Irwin from doing what he does best.

Famed for his work on Channel 4's A Place in the Sun, the 49-year-old announced on Instagram on 25 September that he's rejoined the Escape to the Country line-up after some time away.

"Good news to start the week, there's a brand new episode of @escape_country airing tomorrow on @bbcone at 3pm and it's one of mine!" he captioned a variety of behind-the-scenes photos.

"I head down to Somerset and look at some fantastic rural properties in some beautiful locations. Plus I also get to visit a cider farm - perks of the job. Hope you enjoy! #countryside #somerset #cider #rural #property #countryside #bbciplayer #apples."

As you'd expect, Irwin's news was pounced upon by his supportive fanbase, as one person replied in the comment section: "About time they put you back on. You are great on the show".

"That's wonderful news! Glad to hear they are still allowing you to work so you can continue to support your wonderful family financially" and "How fantastic. You are looking sooo well. Can't wait to see to back on the telly xxx," read another pair of messages.

Earlier this month, the TV star revealed that his cancer was "on the move".

Writing on the same social platform, Irwin shared: "The wait for more scans is frustrating when you know the cancer is on the move again. Meanwhile there's stuff I can do to make the terrain as tough as possible for [brain tumour] growth and the ladies down at @sereniti_health are part of my team of suppliers for various therapies.

"I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting to tap into a healthier lifestyle. Big shout as always goes to @how_to_starve_cancer who's constant help has a huge impact. #respect."

It's now three years since doctors gave him six months to live.
