Jordan Peele ‘ugly cried’ with Daniel Kaluuya after Oscar nominations for Get Out

Jordan Peele revealed he was crying down the phone to Daniel Kaluuya after Get Out bagged four Oscar nominations.

The horror film is up for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Director for Peele and Best Actor for Kaluuya.

Peele tweeted a gif of Kaluuya’s character crying, before telling fans he too had broken down in tears on hearing the nominations.

“I just spoke to Daniel,” he wrote. “You know when you’re on the phone trying to disguise the sound of an ugly cry? I failed at that.

“Right now I’m just thinking about everyone who bought a ticket and told someone else to. You did this. Thank you.”
