Jordan Pickford supported as he says ‘it could have gone better’
Everton FC goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was supported as he made an admission to his fans. Before the international break, the 30-year-old gained plaudits after saving Anthony Gordon's penalty at Goodison Park during the goalless draw against Newcastle United.
Despite a difficult start to the season, Everton are three games unbeaten in the Premier League thanks to two draws and victories over Crystal Palace and Ipswich. Away from the pitch, there is another sport which Pickford takes a keen interest in. Like many footballers, he can often be found on the golf course in his spare time.

Pickford even got to play on the Royal Liverpool course himself on Sunday in The Open Invitational alongside the likes of boxer Tony Bellew, who is a big Blues fan and Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. Back in 2018, Pickford said he has a 15 handicap “on a good day".
Last month, Jordan joined famous names from outside the golfing world, including LFC legend Robbie Fowler and boxer Tony Bellew tackling the West Course at the BMW PGA Championship Celebrity Pro-Am. It was revealed ahead of the tournament that Pickford had a handicap of 9.9.
It’s not been reported how Pickford got in, but he seems to have seen the funny side to a below-par performance. He shared pictures of himself at the tournament earlier this month on his Instagram page.
In the accompanying caption he added: “Throwback to a couple weeks back at the @bmwpga Pro-Am… great day but could have gone better.” He followed this with a laughing face emoji.
Fans and friends were quick to applaud Pickofrd for his efforts. Peter ‘Tubes’ Dale, a football TV presenter, said: “Golf life next please.” Aden Lynn said: “Some day! And some caddy!” Another user added: “Legend.”
