José Mourinho shocks Jaguar staff with surprise visit to collect 100,000th F-Pace

Manchester United manager José Mourinho shocked workers at Jaguar's Solihull car plant when he turned up to collect his new F-Pace – the 100,000^th one to be produced.

The Premier League manager visited the plant and appeared on the actual production line as he looked over his new F-Pace.

Mourinho donned his own personalised Jaguar overalls as he made the surprise visit to the busy Solihull production plant, where cars such as the Jaguar XE saloon, Jaguar F-Pace, Land Rover Discovery and the Range Rover are built. He gave a motivational team talk to workers at the plant, too.

He met staff at the plant and even did his own quality checks before driving his new F-Pace off the production line. He has been a brand ambassador for JLR since 2014 and was the first UK customer to receive an F-Type sports car in 2014.

Mourinho said: "It was an amazing experience to visit Jaguar's factory and see all the cars, technology and hard work that goes into developing such a beautiful car. Jaguar is a brand that I have been involved with for many years."

The F-Pace was first launched in 2016 and has been Jaguar's best-selling car ever, and the quickest model to reach the 100,000 production mark. The SUV has proved very popular since its release, winning multiple awards including the 2017 World Car of the Year.

Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: "It's great to have one of the most successful football managers drive the F-Pace. Just like José Mourinho, the F-Pace is all about individual style and top performance."
