You might be worried that Josh Brolin biting off more than he can chew playing both Deadpool 2 hero Cable and MCU big bad Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel.

Well, it sounds like he's going to be even busier, as he is signed on for multiple-picture deal for 20th Century Fox's X-Men films.

"I was thinking big about the four-picture deal," he told Collider. "So, on my phone I remember I read it. It was so irreverent and funny and hysterical that once I got through it I was like 'that's it'.

"I had no idea [about] the fan-base. I had no idea what it represented, and I think we've made something really special."

We already knew that Brolin was expected to feature in X-Force, a film based on the X-Men spin-off team that will also include his Deadpool 2 co-star Ryan Reynolds.

The other two films could be sequels to those movies, or he could show up in one of the main X-Men films to reunite with his dad, Cyclops. (Cable is a time-traveller, to make things extra confusing.)

Deadpool 2 (and Fox's X-Men: Dark Phoenix) finished shooting in October.

Brolin is also reprising his role as giant purple space warlord Thanos in the third and fourth Avengers movies. If he survives those, we may not be seeing him outside of superhero movies for the foreseeable future!

Deadpool 2 will be released on June 1, 2018. Avengers: Infinity War also lands next year, on April 27 in the UK and May 4 in the US.
