Josh Koroma scores twice as Huddersfield Town thrash non-league side in pre-season friendly

Huddersfield Town continued their pre-season preparations with a convincing 7-0 victory at National League North outfit Guiseley.

The Terriers were resounding winners in Saturday’s friendly at Nethermoor Park, with Josh Koroma netting a brace. Tom Iorpenda, Rhys Healey, Ben Wiles, Bojan Radulovic and Ollie Turton also got on the scoresheet.

Iorpenda gave the visitors an early lead in just the third minute as the ball dropped to the midfielder following a defensive mix-up, with the 19-year-old firing home the opener from outside the box.

Koroma doubled Town’s advantage on the half-hour mark as the forward was sent in behind and curled home into the top corner from inside the box, before the attacker netted his second from close range shortly before the break.

Boss Michael Duff opted to change the entirety of the side for the second half, and it took just a matter of seconds for the Terriers to extend their lead further, as Healey turned home from close range.

Town made it five shortly before the hour mark through Wiles’ left-footed strike, before Radulovic and Turton rounded off the victory in the final ten minutes.

The Terriers have netted 12 goals without reply across their opening two pre-season friendlies, following last weekend’s 5-0 win at Emley. Duff’s side take on League Two outfit Harrogate Town away from home next up in pre-season next Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
