Yahoo News Josh Taylor's road back to boxing pinnacle mapped out as Eddie Hearn hints at possible link-up
Eddie Hearn has revealed he has held talks with Josh Taylor about potentially signing the Scottish boxing star and believes he still has a 'lot to give' to the sport.
Taylor, 33, is hoping to make his return to the ring in early 2025 as he looks to bounce back to his first career losses against Teofimo Lopez and Jack Catterall. The Edinburgh boxer - who collected all four major belts in the super-lightweight division in 2022 - is currently without a promoter after his contract with US giants Top Rank expired.
Hearn worked with the 2014 Commonwealth gold medalist when he promoted Taylor's defeat to Jack Catterall in their highly anticipated rematch in Manchester back in April and admits that the Scot may have to reduce his financial demands until he is back in world title contention.

Speaking to iFL TV, he said: "We've spoken to him. I like Josh a lot actually and liked working with him on the last fight where he was brilliant in the build-up. But it's got to work for everybody and that's us included.
"He is used to earning a lot of money and there is a bit of a rebuild job to do in my opinion because we want to build some momentum. Obviously those rebuild fights are not going to necessarily be (Liam) Paro or Catterall 3.
"It has got to work for everybody on the numbers, but if it did, I would love to bring Josh to Matchroom. But if the numbers don't work he may look elsewhere. He is a good fighter and I still think he has got a lot to give."
