Josie Gibson has revealed that she had to undergo therapy to conquer the ski jump in the challenging Channel 4 skiing competition.

The Big Brother star admitted that she expected it to be much smaller than it appeared on TV, telling Digital Spy: "The Jump is 40% physical and 60% mental.

"The first two weeks, I was mentally drained – I had therapy [to get over it]. The Jump terrifies me, I thought I'd be alright – I thought I would be fine.

"I thought they made it look bigger on TV but it's like a block of flats, you have to get into an elevator to get to it. I had to have therapy to get to the Jump. It helped my mindset – and all the sports people have therapy throughout their career so I think I did the right thing."

Josie added that it triggered a traumatic incident from her childhood, continuing: "It all stemmed from a childhood experience – I jumped from a container to another and fell through it into stinging nettles and fibre glass and red ants.

"I had a fear of jumping off things and I didn't know. So I had therapy."

The reality TV star will compete alongside Sir Bradley Wiggins, TOWIE's Lydia Bright, Made in Chelsea's Spencer Matthews and Olympic gymnast Louis Smith.

Vogue Williams has been replaced by Amy Willerton after pulling out of the competition due to an injury.

Bradley also recently posted an Instagram picture of his foot all bandaged up, but Channel 4 have confirmed it was just a minor injury and he will be competing tomorrow.

The Jump begins tomorrow night (February 5) at 7:30pm on Channel 4.
