Josie Gibson has thanked the This Morning team for "having me" as she confirmed she is about to step down from her presenting role.

The star, who was propelled to fame after winning Big Brother back in 2010, first joined ITV's flagship daytime show as a competition announcer in 2019. In 2022, she was drafted in at the last minute to cover for a sick Holly Willoughby and when Phillip Schofield left the show last year, Josie hosted alongside Holly.

The 38-year-old continued to front This Morning on a rotational basis - along with other members of the "This Morning family" - when Holly quit the show. But in March, ITV bosses confirmed Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard would be taking over the roles permanently.

This week, however, Josie has once again presented the show, while Cat and Ben are enjoying a half-term break. But it has been short-lived and she is stepping down from the role.

Sharing a photo of herself at ITV headquarters on Instagram this evening, Josie told her fans: "Thank you for having me guys!!!! Thank you to the team at @thismorning and @dermotoleary I've had a lovely week.

"The one and only @alisonhammond55 will be back tomorrow and I will be down the line from the @royalbathandwest show ground. See you tomorrow from 10!!!"

Fans have been quick to comment, as Jules said: "Wish you were on all the time" and Jackie said: "You are great, so natural. Nothing fazes you". Tydala said: "I love you on This Morning, you're an amazing presenter Josie".
