Joyous England fans recreate Fat Les' Vindaloo video from World Cup 1998 as they march behind truck in Leek

A group of joyous England fans recreated the music video for Fat Les’ Vindaloo in a small Staffordshire town as World Cup fever sweeps the nation.

The song, an unofficial anthem for the 1998 World Cup, was blasted out of a truck adorned with England flags as it drove through Leek on Saturday.

A horde of Three Lions fans marched behind the truck singing along, clapping and waving their hands in the air following triumph over Sweden in the quarter-final.

They were led by a topless, heavily-set man while many others were in fancy dress or holding flags.

The scenes, captured on film and shared widely, were distinctively similar to the video for Vindaloo, which is always popular when England are playing in a World Cup.

The original video, a parody of the Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony, features

Keith Allen and comedy duo Matt Lucas and David Walliams.

It came as wild celebrations took place across the country on Saturday after England reached their first World Cup semi-final since 1990.
