Jubilee line suspended: London Tube commuters face chaos as entire line shuts down due to power failure
The entire Jubilee line was suspended due to a power failure, sparking travel chaos across London.
A power failure caused the whole line to grind to a halt shortly before 10am on Thursday.
Engineers had fixed the problem as of 3.30pm - though TfL said it was unsure when severe delays would clear.
Commuters vented about being stuck on trains for up to a hour while others complained that poor communication made the problem worse.
I love the honesty: ‘Massive signal failure’ on ‘whole of the Jubilee line’ says the announcer. ‘I have no idea how long it will be like this’ @TfL #jubileeline pic.twitter.com/RyPpWS8s9N

No @jubileeline services due to power outage. Be really great if I didn’t have to find that out on the platform. If only there was a way of communicating with passengers en masse #twitterfail

North Greenwich and Canary Wharf station were among the stations badly affected.
As the problem continued into the afternoon, TfL warned that both Canary Wharf and Heron Quays station would be exit only from 4.30pm.

Slow handclap to @TfLBusAlerts - no bus drivers told @jubileeline closed, loads of people turning up at North Greenwich only to find themselves stranded. Hope we’ll be passed on @emiratesairLDN as 108s can’t cope with demand.

And a number of people said they were stuck on trains outside stations.
Nothing like being stuck in a tunnel for 45 mins to start your day right. Thanks Jubilee line, you’re a babe

Stuck on a train and just told it was a signal failure and would take 5 mins to fix ?

A TfL spokesman said: “We apologise for the disruption caused by the power failure on the Jubilee line this morning.
"Our engineers are working to resolve this issue and to restore a normal service as quickly as possible.”

Thanks @TfL @jubileeline your power failure today has made me really late for work. Overground is running slow too. You should offer compensation for this

The transport company added that London Overground, DLR, C2C, South Eastern will be accepting valid London Underground tickets via any reasonable routes.
