Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them's sequel had a lot of fans Stupefied when they announced who would be playing a young Albus Dumbledore earlier this month.

And while we were admittedly blindsided by the casting of Jude Law as the wizarding world's greatest wizard, it sounds like the team have made an excellent decision.

Breaking his silence on the iconic role in an interview with the BBC, Jude admitted that although he is a little intimidated by Dumbledore's character, he's taking the whole thing very seriously.

Just as the future master of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry should.

"My first port of call, I hope, is to meet JK Rowling and to talk exactly about that and find out who he is, and who she wants him to be," he said.

"[I want to] learn a little bit more about her vision of this great man as a young man."

When asked how he was feeling about getting to work on the hotly-anticipated sequel, Jude admitted that he was "only excited by the whole prospect," before confessing he did feel "an element of fear".

"I think all good jobs have an element of fear... because you want to do well by it," he added. "You want to please people and you want to please yourself."

Jude Law will star alongside Johnny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald, the dark wizard responsible for Europe's magic war, in Fantastic Beasts' upcoming sequels – of which there will be four.

The films are expected to explore the falling-out between the two great wizards, touching upon that all-important connection we now know is definitely between them.

Shooting for Fantastic Beasts 2 will begin later this summer, and fans can expect to see it apparate in cinemas on November 16, 2018.
