Judge Spots Fellow Cruise Ship Passenger

A Florida judge who was reunited with an old schoolmate in the dock has once again come face to face with a familiar person in the courtroom.

Earlier this month, Miami-Dade County Judge Mindy Glazer made headlines worldwide when she recognised burglary suspect Arthur Booth as her middle-school friend .

But this time round, she is filmed recognising someone from her more recent past - a passenger from a Caribbean cruise she had just been on.

Alon Glenn was appearing before Judge Glazer in an extradition hearing, Local10.com reported.

He was facing a fraud charge in Georgia and had been arrested after getting off the Carnival Breeze cruise ship in Florida.

As Glenn stood before her, Judge Glazer was quick to remember him from the holiday.

"Isn't that cool?" she says to a surprised Glenn.

"You had a nice cruise?" she asked.

"I'm glad to be back at work. I had to watch four kids!"

He then asked the judge if she had seen him dancing during a poolside contest by the pool, to which she replied she had.

A laughing Glenn said: "This is crazy."

Judge Glazer said: "It was a fun time, huh?"

She then got on with the business of the court, saying: "I'm sorry you have to go through this, sir."

Glenn requested bail, but was denied as the case is from Georgia.

When Judge Glazer was reunited with her school friend in the court on 2 July, he broke down in tears.

"I'm sorry to see you here," replied Judge Glazer.

"I always wondered what happened to you."

She went on to tell the court: "This was the nicest kid in middle school.

"He was the best kid in middle school. I used to play football with him, all the kids, and look what has happened."

"What's sad is how old we've become," she continued before finishing the conversation with: "Good luck to you, sir, I hope you are able to come out of this OK and just lead a lawful life."
