Judi Love has revealed that somebody she once dated told her she would look "so much nicer" if she lost a stone.

The Loose Women panellist told the story on Thursday's edition of the show — reported via Metro — during a discussion about comments exes had made about physical appearance.

She said: "I’ve dated someone before that was kind of like: 'Just lose that stone, you’ll be so much nicer'."

When Love's fellow presenters commented on how "damaging" comments like that can be, the comedian revealed that her response soon silenced the person.

"And you’re like: 'Okay babe, you’re going to lose all 18 stones and never going to see me again'," the stand-up comic revealed.

The discussion was triggered by a story about the prospect of people buying their bald or balding partners a hair transplant.

Love said: "I suppose there’s a way you think your partner looks better, remembering when he did have hair and you’re kind of trying to encourage him.

"But me personally, I wouldn’t want my husband to try and suggest anything else."

During the chat, panellist Katie Piper spoke openly about her own hair transplant, which she said was "empowering" after the acid attack which left her with facial scarring.

She was attacked by Stefan Sylvestre in March 2008 at the request of her ex-boyfriend Daniel Lynch.

Lynch received two life sentences and will serve a minimum of 16 years in prison, while Sylvestre received a life sentence and had his application for release approved in 2018.

Piper said: "Because I lost my hair in an act of violence, my hair transplant was really empowering for me to say: 'I'm bringing it back in my terms'. So it was an amazing thing for me."
