Judi Love tests positive for COVID-19: Star to miss this week's Strictly Come Dancing

Judi Love will miss ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend after testing positive for COVID-19.

The 41-year-old comedian and television presenter will be forced to miss this week’s edition of the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance competition after she returned a positive test for the virus this week.

Judi and her professional partner, Graziano Di Prima, will be allowed back on the show next week.

A ‘Strictly’ spokesperson said in a statement: "Judi Love has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines. While Judi and Graziano will not be taking part in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week.”

The news comes after this year’s series of ‘Strictly’ has been met with several setbacks.

Earlier in the series, Tom Fletcher and his partner Amy Dowden were forced to miss a week after they also tested positive for COVID-19.

The McFly singer said at the time it was "incredibly frustrating" not being able to perform.

He explained: “Today is a tough day. It’s a 'Strictly' day. I’m going to be watching 'Strictly' tonight.

“I’ll be cheering everyone on. I desperately, desperately, wish I was there dancing. I know Amy will be doing the same and it will be incredibly frustrating.

“But what’s even more frustrating is not being able to see my kids."

While Robert Webb and Dianne Buswell withdrew from the competition entirely when Robert realised he wasn’t at the right stage of his recovery from heart surgery to cope with the demands of the show.

Robert, who had open heart surgery two years ago, told fans at the time of his departure that he was sorry about leaving.

He said in a statement: “I had bitten off way more than I could chew for this stage in my recovery."
