Red Nose Day is officially a US tradition now, and this year's lineup is the most star-studded group yet.

US network NBC is bringing the charity telethon back for the third year running, this time adding fundraising editions of American Ninja Warrior and Running Wild with Bear Grylls to the mix on Thursday, May 25.

Unlike the epically-long UK version, Red Nose Day USA will run for three jam-packed hours in primetime beginning with Celebrity Ninja Warrior at 8pm ET.

The likes of Stephen Amell (Arrow), Derek Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Erika Christensen (Parenthood), Mena Suvari (American Woman), comedian Nikki Glaser, former New York Yankee Nick Swisher, Jeff Dye (Better Late Than Never) and Today's Natalie Morales will compete in the most challenging Ninja Warrior courses ever conceived.

Then at 9pm ET, Julia Roberts will travel with Bear Grylls to deliver life-saving vaccines to children on a very important edition of Running Wild for Red Nose Day.

The duo are on a strict time deadline to reach their destination and must jump out of a small plane and avoid crocodiles and hippos all while guarding their vaccine from any potential danger. They'll also meet the children whose lives will be saved by the medicine.

Red Nose Day USA wraps up at 10pm ET with Talking Dead's Chris Hardwick hosting The Red Nose Day Special, which will feature comedy sketches, live performances and the US premiere of Comic Relief's Love Actually sequel.

This will actually be a new version of Red Nose Day Actually including a never-before-scene cameo from Laura Linney… and potentially other surprises too.

Here's hoping Red Nose Day USA goes smoother than the UK version, which got mixed reviews and even sparked an Ofcom investigation back in March.
