The Jump's Sir Bradley Wiggins just swore on live TV

The Jump has barely even started, and Davina McCall has already been forced to apologise to viewers for obscene language.

The offender in question? Only, the UK's most successful ever Olympian Bradley Wiggins, who is also nursing his first injury from the slopes but is clear to take part in tonight's live launch.

Davina had just introduced the celebrity line-up taking part in this series of the Channel 4 winter sports show when she sat down opposite Bradley for a bit of a chat, only to have the Olympian swear - and take a dig at one of the UK's leading publications.

"You're not just a Olympic legend," Davina told Bradley, "you're THE Olympic legend. And one does really want to ask you, 'Why did you choose The Jump?'"

To which he replied: "Why not? Just to p**s the Daily Mail off, really."

Naughty!

Of course, former Big Brother host Davina is used to a couple of live TV slip-ups from contestants, but still looked surprised by the comment and quickly scolded Wiggo for his comments.

"You can't say that word at this time of evening!" Davina said. "So, I'll apologise for Bradley there."

Maybe next time she should kick off the show with a classic, "Good evening celebrities, you are live on Channel 4 please do not swear."

Even so, it seems there is no need for apologies because viewers on Twitter absolutely loved it.

The comment also didn't go unnoticed by Wiggins' fellow The Jump contestant Mark Dolan, who also chipped in his two cents.

"I love the Daily Mail," Dolan later said. "I love it."

Good luck keeping those boys in line, Davina!
