Jurgen Klopp aims 'useless' dig at Man United after Jadon Sancho transfer to Chelsea
Jurgen Klopp has expressed his disapproval of Manchester United's handling of Jadon Sancho, emphasising that a manager should support their players rather than discard them as "useless".
The forward's future had been a hot topic leading up to the summer after he found his stride again during a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last season, which saw the German club make it to the Champions League final.
This resurgence followed a public disagreement with United boss Erik ten Hag, when Sancho voiced his displeasure at being omitted from a matchday squad a year prior. This led to a period of exclusion under Ten Hag before he was welcomed back into the first-team fold this summer.

However, a late move to Chelsea appears to have cut short his time at Old Trafford. The £72 million-rated player has moved to the capital on a loan deal, with Chelsea committed to a future purchase.
Consequently, his less-than-stellar period in Manchester has come to an end, but Klopp is of the opinion that more backing was due before his sale, reports the Mirror.
The former Liverpool manager remarked before the transfer deadline: "If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player, the manager has to be the one behind the player. I cannot just buy into that 'he's useless,' like other clubs did by the way - buying a player for £80 million and then sending him out on loan! ".
Sancho scored just 12 times in 80 games for Manchester United. The 23-year-old winger has also lost his place in the England squad after returning to the Premier League from his initial spell at Dortmund in 2021.
United's sporting director Dan Ashworth explained the decision to let Sancho leave, telling Sky Sports: "I think with any player, whether it's Jadon, whether it's Scott [McTominay] or whether it's Aaron [Wan-Bissaka], if there's a preference that they would like to move and go to a new club and it's right for them and it's right for us, then you have to explore it.
"We felt we had enough depth in that particular position to be able to cover it, we've got four really good wide players, Jadon was a fifth, and it just enabled us to make that decision. If it was good for him and good for us it was something we were willing to consider."
