Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp refuses to rule out Dominic Solanke loan transfer

Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out the possibility of Dominic Solanke leaving Liverpool on loan before the close of the transfer window on August 31.

The 20-year-old striker made just six starts in his debut campaign at Anfield following a move from Chelsea, with the form of the Reds' first-choice No.9 Roberto Firmino restricting his opportunities.

His prospects appear to have been further hampered this summer by the arrival of Xherdan Shaqiri and Daniel Sturridge's return to fitness, leading to rumours of a season-long loan switch to Rangers surfacing.

And, when pushed on the likelihood of a temporary departure for the Englishman in his pre-Crystal Palace press conference, Klopp remained coy.

He said: “I have nothing to say. I don’t want to discuss things like this in a press conference.

"I hear this for the first time now, so it doesn’t look like it’s close to happening! Nothing to say.

“We have the 31st August, Italy closes today, and the rest have two weeks. That’s how it is. Nothing to say.”
