Jurgen Klopp's £4m mansion that once belonged to Steven Gerrard
Jurgen's Klopp's former mansion has long had ties to Liverpool FC. It was back in 2015 that the former Reds manager moved into the home on Victoria Road in Formby with his wife Ulla Sandrock.
One of Merseyside's most expensive roads, Victoria Road is often referred to as the region's "Millionaire's Row", thanks to its huge mansions and celebrity neighbours and over the years, it has been home to footballers, managers and property tycoons. But earlier today, the ECHO reported how the property is on the market with Berkeley Shaw Real Estate for £4.25m.
The property has been owned by LFC for a number of years. A club source told the ECHO that Arne Slot chose to live in a different property upon his arrival at the club and so it felt like the right time for the club to put the property on the market.

Earlier this year, Klopp swapped Formby for Mallorca after his incredible nine year reign in charge of Liverpool FC came to an end. Earlier this year, the ECHO reported how the multi-million pound mansion has a market rental value of several thousands per month, and rents can go as high as £12,000 per month on Victoria Road.
The Reds’ manager became a popular figure in the village, occasionally being spotted in local pubs and restaurants. But Klopp wasn't the first person with ties to Liverpool FC to live in the mansion.
Klopp's predecessor Brendan Rodgers bought the home from Steven Gerrard back in 2012. Klopp and Rodgers have both spoken highly of each other in the past and are thought to enjoy a good relationship. Joking that Klopp was a good tenant, Rodgers said the Liverpool FC boss "always pays the rent on time" in an interview before the Reds' clash with Leicester City on October 5, 2019.
Steven Gerrard bought the house in 2005. The seven bedroom property was built by a Formby-based property developer. At the time it was the biggest house to be built in Formby for 90 years.
On Instagram, Berkeley Shaw described the property as a "beautiful home tucked away in the prestigious area of Freshfield, set on a private plot with impressive gardens and secure gated access." The property has six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym and spa, an indoor swimming pool, a steam room, private parking for ample number of cars, a large rear garden and more.

It is located a short distance from Freshfield train station. In 2008 Gerrard built a state-of-art gym at the bottom of the home’s garden.
At the time Gerrard’s architect, David Dickerson of DK Architects, said the pavilion would feature hand worked copper panels and large expanses of frameless glazing, giving uninterrupted views through and across the pavilion. He said: “The pavilion has been conceived as a glass box sat within the grounds of our client’s house, and is situated within a stunning and integrated landscaping proposal, with elements such as free standing bronze walls and beautiful water features, which tie the proposed pavilion back into the main house.”
Sefton Council approved the plans and the gym was built. Gerrard decided to sell up in 2015 after announcing his decision to move on from Anfield and play professional football in LA Galaxy.
The Huyton-born footballer is understood to have later moved back to Formby prior to his appointment as manager at Saudi Pro League club Al-Ettifaq. In May this year, The Mirror reported how manager Arne Slot was to move into Jurgen Klopp's £4million house when he took Liverpool job, but he has since chosen to live in another property.
Earlier this year, Slot said he had plans to speak to his legendary German predecessor when he takes over at Anfield. He previously said: "It’s normal if you go to a new club that you contact the coach. I did this at Feyenoord as well. All the knowledge a person has from working a few years at the club, or nine in this case."
