'Just a Normal Day in Alaska': Snow-Covered Moose Merges With Anchorage Traffic

A “beautiful” snow-covered moose was spotted strolling through a snowstorm in Anchorage, Alaska, on November 2, leaving the premises of a public library and joining the flow of traffic.

The video, recorded by Kirsten Reynolds, shows the massive wild animal walking through the snow as it crosses the urban area. A voice in the background calls the moose “beautiful.”

Reynolds told Storyful that this was "just a normal day in Alaska. “We had our first official snow day,” she said, “and this big guy was just the icing on the cake!”

Anchorage is known to be one of the best places to see a moose, with wildlife officials estimating that 1,500 wild moose live in and around the city. Credit: Kirsten Reynolds via Storyful
