Just purr-fect! Little girl has the most adorable reaction to being given two kittens - after being told she couldn’t have any

This is the heartwarming moment a little girl broke down in tears of joy after being surprised with an adorable pair of kittens on her birthday.

Robyn Metcalfe opened a box in her living room, and couldn’t hide her excitement when she found a tiny kitten hiding in a box.

Clearly overwhelmed, the seven-year-old starts crying – only to be surprised with another kitten.

Her dad Ian Metcalfe, 32, captured the reaction at their home in Widnes, Cheshire, and revealed that he had told his daughter they wouldn’t be getting a cat at all.

He said: “Robyn’s been asking for a kitten for the last 18 months since our last kitten Mickey died.

“She kept asking me for a kitten but I always said no so she called me grumpy – I had to keep up the grumpy persona for nine weeks to keep it a secret from her.

“Nine weeks ago a friend of the family had a cat that had recently given birth to four kittens and was looking to re-home them.

“Me and my wife Lauren didn’t intend on getting two, but we were both in love with one each and couldn’t decide on which one to take.”

He added: “It was very exciting surprising Robyn with the kittens, but very emotional to see her so happy.

“She was overwhelmed and cried for 20 minutes and kept thanking us.

“She’s obsessed with them and is a proper little mum to them.”
