It turns out that not even the combination of all of the Justice League members can save the film from all the negative publicity its been getting.

After a rocky week that saw its Rotten Tomatoes score leak early before being confirmed at just 38% positive, The Hollywood Reporter states that the team-up movie is on track to rake in $95 million in its opening weekend at the US Box Office, which is down from a projected $110 million.

This would make it the lowest opening of any film in the DC Extended Universe so far.

The weekend debuts for the other four DCEU films go like this: Wonder Woman ($103 million), Man of Steel ($116 million), Suicide Squad ($133.7 million) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ($166 million).

The suits at Warner Bros also won't be pleased that Justice League is predicted to end well short of Thor: Ragnarok's weekend debut of $122.7 million too.

Weekend debuts aren't everything, however, because Wonder Woman became the biggest DCEU film at the US Box Office shortly after its release, despite making less than the franchise's other entries, and is currently the DCEU's second biggest film worldwide.

Can Justice League do the same thing and turn its relatively low opening performance around?

With its $300 million budget compared to Wonder Woman's $150 million price tag, no matter how well it does, WB are probably going to be looking long and hard at their franchise.

Justice League is out in cinemas now.
