In case you missed it, the latest full trailer for Justice League dropped over the weekend, and it looked suitably epic, you'll be pleased to hear.

And amid all the moody lighting and fight scenes, of which there were a lot, eagle-eyed viewers would have caught a glimpse of the movie's opening sequence.

Looking like a shot that wouldn't be out of place in a Lord of the Rings film, it's our first look at the huge, blockbuster battle that starts the film off.

According to Screen Rant, that battle is a very important one, taking place before the events that bring our metahumans together.

Depicting the ancient war between Apokolips, Atlantis, the Amazons and mankind, this LOTR-style battle will show the Parademons' first attempt at conquering the planet – and who managed to stop them.

Another moment you may have missed in the latest trailer is a brief but significant Easter egg involving Ezra Miller's Barry Allen, aka The Flash.

The relevant shot shows Barry visiting his father Dr Henry Allen (Billy Crudup) in prison. If the comics are being followed, he's been convicted for murdering his wife - and if Dr Allen's false conviction is something we get to see, then we can probably expect to meet the real murderer: a time-travelling speedster known as Professor Zoom, or 'Reverse-Flash'.

So, yep, you can probably expect to see Reverse-Flash pop up in the DCEU some time soon. Perhaps Flash's solo movie, if it ever makes it off the ground.

Justice League is unleashed in cinemas on November 17.
