Justin Bieber has renewed his playful rivalry with Tom Cruise with his take on the ‘Bottle Cap Challenge’ that is sweeping social media.

The 25-year-old pop star recently challenged the star of the Mission: Impossible franchise to step into the Octagon with him for an MMA fight, tagging UFC boss Dana White in the tweet.

Bieber later backtracked on the challenge, but it seems his war of bravado with Cruise isn’t over just yet.

In a video posted to his 114 million Instagram followers, Bieber quipped that “this could be Tom Cruise’s head” before acrobatically kicking the top off a bottle.

His caption commands his wife, Hailey, and Cruise to complete the challenge themselves.

The ‘Bottle Cap Challenge’ has spread like wildfire in recent weeks, with Jason Statham, Ryan Reynolds and UFC fighter Connor McGregor among the celebrities to have taken part.

Several famous faces took to Instagram to comment on Bieber’s challenge video.

Actor David Spade referred to the singer’s feat as “solid”, while singer-songwriter Corey Harper admired Bieber’s straightening of his hat before the kick as “the most JB thing I’ve ever witnessed” and “insane”.

Survivor contestant Rodney Lavoie Jr. wrote that a fight between Cruise and Bieber “easily would be the biggest pay-per-view fight in the history” of MMA.

Bieber announced in March 2019 that he was taking a break from music to focus on his personal life.

He has since, however, announced that a fifth solo studio album is on the way and released single I Don’t Care with Ed Sheeran.
