Las Vegas has been the home of many a superstar singer while they took on a long residency there.

From Jennifer Lopez to Mariah Carey, residencies have become a pretty popular option for iconic musicians.

But one artist you won't be seeing in Vegas under any circumstances is Justin Timberlake – as he's made it very clear that it's not for him right now.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 Radio, he said it was a "scary" prospect for him right now.

"I mean I wouldn't rule it out if it was something that was different," he said. "I definitely don't...you know…it feels like…".

"...A retirement option?" Zane asked.

"...You're planning your retirement. You know what I mean?" Justin continued. "So for some reason that feels like scary to me."

That's potentially a bit of a burn towards his former girlfriend, Britney Spears, who recently wrapped up her own four-year residency in the city.

Lady Gaga is the latest star to commit to a long-running Vegas show, as she's due to start her residency at the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino's Park Theater at the end of this year.

Justin, meanwhile, has just released his latest single 'Filthy' – along with a rather unusual video –and is set to drop his new album Man of the Woods on February 2.

He's described the new album as "really inspired by my son, my wife, my family" and "personal".

So we now know that if we see Justin headlining at Vegas, he's thinking of hanging up his suit and tie imminently...
